Baggage reclaim and customs at Haneda Airport
After landing at Tokyo Haneda Airport, follow the signs for arrivals, baggage reclaim and customs. The route depends on your terminal, whether the flight is domestic or international, and the applicable border procedures.
Collecting checked baggage
- Check the flight information screens for your assigned baggage carousel.
- Compare the baggage tag with your luggage before leaving the reclaim area.
- Keep your baggage tag and boarding pass until your bags have been collected.
Delayed, missing or damaged baggage
Report the issue to your airline or its handling representative as soon as possible, preferably before leaving the baggage reclaim area. Request a written reference and keep your baggage tag, boarding pass and receipts. The airline can explain tracing and claims procedures.
Customs and restricted goods
International arrivals must follow Japan Customs requirements. Allowances and restrictions depend on the goods carried and the rules in force on arrival. Check the current guidance from Japan Customs before travelling, especially for food, plants, medicines, cash and commercial goods.
